How To Store and Reheat
If you have any leftovers, put them in an airtight container and store them in the fridge. It should be good to eat for at least 3 days without any issues. If you intend to keep it for longer, you'll need to freeze it. That way, you can store it for over a month.
As for reheating, there are a couple of methods. I like to microwave them for 40-45 seconds. It's one of the easiest ways to reheat it, and you don't lose flavor either.
Alternatively, you can reheat it using your air fryer.
Just set the temperature to 340F, and heat it for about 3-5 minutes. If you're patient enough, reheating in an air fryer might be the perfect option. Unlike a microwave, an air fryer helps retain the original taste while also keeping the crispness intact.
Pro Tips
Although air frying broccolini is effortless, there are still some teeny-tiny tips to keep in mind to cook it to perfection. The following are some of them:
- Always make sure to thoroughly dry off the broccolini before seasoning and cooking. Moisture on the surface will cause the vegetable to steam. Hence, it won't get that signature crisp I've been talking about.
- As you know, an air fryer is all about hot air circulation. Therefore, ensure not to overcrowd the basket and keep ample space between all baby broccoli pieces. Cook in batches, if need be!
- I recommend checking the dish at least 3 minutes before the cooking time. As all air fryers are different, some might cook the food quicker. You don't want to end up with a burned broccolini, do you?
- Don't shy away from getting creative with the seasonings. The ones I mentioned in the recipe are according to my liking. If you think any other seasonings would taste good, give it a try.
Are broccolini and broccoli the same?
No, they aren't. Broccolini is a hybrid vegetable formed by crossing broccoli and Chinese broccoli. It has a sweet, mild, and earthy taste compared to the bitter taste of broccoli. However, both can be cooked the same way.
Why does my broccolini always burn in the air fryer?
If yours burn in the fryer during cooking, then you are cooking it for too long or not blanching the broccolini before air frying. The cooking method described in this recipe is the best way of cooking baby broccoli to ensure it is tender, yet crispy without burning.
