    This is the best air fryer crispy potatoes recipe! It is easy and quick, and you get really crunchy potatoes that are super delicious! Every bite is a delight!

    These crispy potatoes in air fryer are golden and crunchy on the outer while soft, and fluffy on the inside. It is packed full of flavor and makes the perfect potato side dish.

    I love making potatoes in the air fryer. It’s one of my favorite food to make in the air fryer because it comes out perfectly cooked and cook in half of the time it takes to cook it in the oven.

    These crispy air fryer potatoes use a fraction of the oil it will take for deep frying so it has lower calories and it's healthier.

    Not only is these crispy air fried potatoes easy and quick to make, but it requires minimal preparation. So simple yet so delicious.

    The ingredients used for making these crunchy potatoes are simple pantry ingredients including cornmeal which is key to making these potatoes crispy and remaining so even when it's cooled down.

    Serve as a snack or side dish at any time and for any occasion. It is versatile and goes with chicken, steak, fish, lamb, and other vegetables.

    Ingredients

    Potatoes-I used Maris Piper. You can use any type of potatoes like Yukon gold, Russet potatoes, and Desiree.

    Cornmeal- I use fine cornmeal. It can be substituted with semolina.

    Paprika

    Garlic granules

    Black pepper

    How To Air Fry Crispy Potatoes

    Here's how to make crispy potatoes in air fryer:

    Choose whether to peel or not peel the potatoes. I like to peel potatoes for this recipe however I have done it other times without peeling with good results. If not peeling the skin, ensure you wash it well.

    Cut the potatoes into about 1-2 inch bite sizes.

    Transfer them into a bowl, wash and pat them dry with paper towels.

    Add the paprika, parsley, rosemary, cornmeal, garlic granules, onion granules, black pepper, olive oil, and salt.

    Toss to coat the potatoes in the seasoning mix.

    Pour potatoes into the air fryer basket and air fry at 400F/200C for 10 minutes.

    Bring out the basket, shake it to stir the potatoes, and continue to air fry for another 10 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy on the outer and tender inside.

    How Long To Cook Potatoes In Air Fryer

    This depends on factors such as the size, cut, type of potatoes, quantity in the basket, type of air fryer, wattage, and if the air fryer is preheated or not.

    Generally, How long to cook potatoes in air fryer is between 15-25 minutes.

    Bite-sized potatoes will cook faster than bigger-sized ones like whole potatoes.

    If cut into 1-2 inch cubes, it takes 20 minutes to cook and crisp.

    When you're making a recipe for the first time, I advise you to check on it often so as not to overcook it. If undercooked, you can always add more time.

    Potatoes are cooked when it is golden brown on the outer, and the inside is tender, and fluffy. A fork when inserted should go in without resistance.

    What To Serve With Air Fryer Crispy Potatoes

    It can be served with a variety of foods. Some recommendations of what you can serve with are:

    Chicken- Boneless chicken thighs, pan fried chicken breast, stovetop chicken thighs,

    Steak- Sirloin steak, pan fried steak, instant pot steak,

    Fish- Air fryer salmon with skin, pan fried salmon, air fryer sea bass

    Lamb- air fryer lamb chops, Instant pot lamb chops, roast leg of lamb

    Vegetables- air fryer vegetables, Pan fried vegetables, air fryer bell peppers

    served in a plate and garnished with parsley leaves.

    How To Store

    When the potatoes are cool completely, Transfer them to an airtight container or Ziploc bag, label then put it in the fridge where it will store well for up to 3 days. If you want to store it for longer, then put it in the freezer where it will keep well for up to 4 months.

    When you are ready to eat it, bring it out and reheat it in the air fryer, oven, or in the microwave.

    To reheat in the air fryer: Transfer the potatoes to the air fryer basket in a single layer and air fry at a temperature of 390F/190C for 4 minutes or till they are warmed through.

    To reheat in the oven- Arrange the potatoes in a baking paper lined tray, put the tray in the oven, and reheat at a temperature of 200C/400F for 8 minutes or until it's heated through.

    • Cut potatoes into equal sizes
    • You can use other seasonings like ranch, and roast potato seasoning.
    • Don't overcrowd the basket. Don't fill the basket more than one-third although it's best when in a single layer.
    • No need to preheat the air fryer.
    • Toss the potatoes halfway through cooking.
