    Boneless Chicken Breast - I used boneless skinless.

    Paprika - Smoked paprika or regular Paprika works fine.

    Garlic granules - or garlic powder if that's what you have.

    Onion granules - Onion powder can be used in place of granules.
    Black pepper

    Olive oil- I use extra virgin olive oil but you can substitute it with avocado oil, sunflower oil, vegetable oil, or any odorless oil.

    Here's the step-by-step instructions:

    Make the seasoning- Mix paprika, garlic powder, onion granules, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and salt together.

    Pat the boneless chicken breasts dry with paper towels and brush them all over with olive oil.

    Sprinkle the seasoning all over the chicken (cover all sides with seasoning), and pat the seasoning in with your hands.

    Arrange the seasoned chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer leaving enough space between them so they are not touching.

    Set the air fryer to 200C/400F and air fry boneless skinless chicken breast for 14-18 minutes flipping it once halfway through cooking.

    Take the chicken out of the air fryer, let them rest for 5 minutes then serve.

    How Long To Cook Boneless Chicken Breast In Air Fryer

    How long to cook boneless chicken breast in the air fryer is 12-18 minutes. This is determined by the chicken's size and thickness, and the air fryer's temperature. Below is the time guide I use and it works perfectly:

    Small size chicken breast - 12 minutes @ 400F/200C

    Medium - 14 minutes

    Large - 16- 18 minutes

    Flip the chicken halfway through cooking for the sides to brown evenly.
    The Chicken is cooked when the internal temperature reaches at least 75C/165F. You can check this by using a meat probe (Instant read thermometer).

    Serving Suggestion

    As mentioned before air fryer boneless skinless chicken breast is versatile and can be served with most foods. Here are some side dish recommendations:

    Potatoes- Baked diced potatoes, mashed potatoes with cream cheese, air fryer sliced potatoes
    Veggies- Green beans, boiled Zucchini, asparagus, stove top broccoli, air fryer carrots and potatoes
    Rice - Yellow rice, rice and peas, Jollof rice, curry rice

    Storage and Reheating

    It's quite simple to store and reheat. Once the chicken breasts are cooled, transfer to a sealable freezer bag (Ziploc) or an airtight container, and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

    To reheat in the air fryer - Remove all packaging, transfer the chicken to the air fryer, and air fry for 4 minutes or until warmed. Alternatively, reheat it in the microwave at high settings for 1 minute.

    • No need to preheat the air fryer.
    • Make it boneless chicken breast bites by cutting the chicken into bite sizes.
    • Use similar-sized chicken so they cook evenly.
    • If one side of the chicken breast is much thicker than the other, use a meat mallet to slightly flatten it for even thickness.

      I made two modifications to this recipe. I added 1 tsp of crushed red pepper and used smoked paprika instead of plain paprika. Otherwise, I followed the recipe and prep exactly. It turned out excellent. I can see myself using this recipe in chicken Alfredo or even grilled over oak wood, with careful attention to avoid overcooking. I used a Kalorik Maxx, which ran too hot for this recipe, so the time must be watched closely to prevent burning or blackening the outside of the chicken. The inside was still juicy. I would give it 100 stars if I could!
