For this air fryer crispy chicken breast, I have used a combination of breadcrumbs and flour to create breading that sticks with the perfect texture. No buttermilk is needed for making this recipe. I dipped the chicken in egg before the panko mix however, you can make it without using eggs and I have included instructions for that.

How To Make Breaded Chicken Breast In Air Fryer
Pat the chicken breast dry with kitchen towels
Break the egg in a bowl, add salt and seasoning, then whisk.
Add breadcrumbs, flour, paprika, parsley, onion granules, garlic granules, pepper, and salt to another bowl. Mix till combined.
Dip chicken breast in the egg mixture to coat. If you prefer not to use egg, brush the chicken with olive oil instead.
Coat each chicken in the breadcrumb mix making sure all sides are covered.
Transfer breaded chicken to the air fryer basket in a single layer leaving space in between the chicken fillets.
Spray the top of each chicken fillet with cooking spray.
Air fry at a temperature of 400F/200C for 12-15 minutes. After 8 minutes, gently flip the chicken and continue to cook for 7 minutes depending on the size of the chicken.
It is cooked when the skin is golden brown and crispy, and the inside is tender. The internal temperature when checked with an instant thermometer should be at least 165F.
Frozen Breaded Chicken Breast In Air Fryer
If cooking frozen breaded chicken in air fryer, follow this direction:
Remove all packaging from the chicken.
Arrange chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer leaving space between them.
Set the air fryer to 400F/200C and air fry frozen breaded chicken breast for 12-15 minutes depending on the size and thickness.
When it's golden brown and crispy and the inside tender, bring it out of the air fryer and serve.
The internal temperature when checked with a meat thermometer should be at least 75C/165F.

How long to cook breaded chicken breast in air fryer is between 12-15 minutes depending on the size, and thickness of the chicken. The type of air fryer, wattage, and temperature are also important factors that determine the cooking time. Thick fillets will take longer to cook than thinner fillets, and bone-in chicken will also take longer to cook than boneless.
How long to cook frozen breaded chicken breast is 15-18 minutes depending on the thickness and size.
Chicken is cooked when the inside is tender, and the outer golden brown and crispy.
The internal temperature at the thickest part of the chicken should read at least 165C/ 75F when checked with an instant meat thermometer.
Air fryer panko chicken breast is best served immediately. They can be reheated at a temperature of 360F for 4-8 minutes or until heated through.

To Reheat it in the microwave, place the chicken on a microwave-safe plate, and microwave on high settings at 30 seconds intervals till it's heated through.
For the oven, place chicken on a baking tray, and bake at 200C/400F for 8 minutes or till warmed through.
To Reheat in the Air fryer, arrange chicken breast on the air fryer basket or tray, set the temperature to 360F/170C, and air fry for 4-8 minutes or until heated through.
How long it takes to warm up will depend on the size of the chicken.
