Sliced baked potatoes are some of my favorite celebration and holiday sides. They make a good side dish at Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Sunday dinner, or any occasion.

Cooking potatoes in the oven is straightforward and you don't have to be a great home cook or professional to make it. Children under supervision can carry it out to perfection. I sometimes let my 11-year-old daughter make it under supervision.

Not much prep is required for these baked potato slices in oven, it's just to slice potatoes, season, and bake them at the right temperature and time which I have detailed in this post.

Potatoes are a popular side dish because they are versatile, easy to cook, delicious, and pair well with main dishes.

This recipe uses a few simple ingredients that are readily available in most people's pantries.

Sliced baked potatoes are healthier than deep-fried ones as they use lesser oil to cook. which makes this suitable if you are counting calories.

No soaking is required for this recipe although if you have the time you can soak the potatoes for 30 minutes to get rid of some starch and make the potatoes crispier.

These crispy sliced potatoes are vegetarian, vegan, plant-based, and gluten-free.

    Seasoned Potato Slices

For these baked potato slices, I used simple spices and herbs for the seasoning. The herbs and spices include rosemary, garlic powder, onion granules, and parsley. I most especially like to use my roast potato seasoning which I usually have in my pantry. ½ tablespoon of it does the job for 1kg of potatoes. Aside from the seasoning used in this recipe, and the roast potatoes seasoning, some other seasonings that go well with potatoes and you can use are Italian seasoning, and herbs de Provence.
