    Oven Baked Boneless Chicken Breasts Recipe

    This oven baked boneless chicken breasts recipe is one of my favorite simple chicken breast recipes not just because it's delicious, but it is also easy, quick, and makes use of a simple seasoning that gives maximum flavor.

    It is easy to bake boneless skinless chicken breasts in the oven and all it takes is to pat them dry, brush them with oil, season them, and then bake them to perfection. Easy peasy! The result is moist, juicy, and tender. No dry chewy chicken here.

    You only need a handful of ingredients and minimal preparation to make this juicy, moist, tender, and flavorful baked chicken breast every time.

    This boneless chicken breast oven baked is versatile and can be used in many ways. Serve with sides like Salads, and potatoes, or use in wraps and sandwiches.

    This recipe is foolproof and you can't go wrong with it if you follow the easy step-by-step directions.

    It is high in protein, low carb, healthy, nutritious, and delicious. Let me show you how to bake boneless chicken breast in the oven.

    Ingredients

    The detailed ingredients, measurements, and directions are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

    Boneless chicken breast- I used boneless skinless chicken breast.

    Seasoning- Paprika, onion granules, garlic granules, black pepper, parsley, rosemary, and salt.

    Oil- Use olive oil, sunflower, or vegetable oil.

    Chicken Breast Seasoning

    This seasoning is made with paprika, onion granules, rosemary, garlic powder, parsley, pepper, and salt. For a caramelized, slightly sweet taste, add a teaspoon of brown sugar.

    You don't have to use this combination of spices as you can use any good seasoning of your choice. Some other seasonings I like to use on chicken breasts are:

    Peri Peri seasoning- Sweet, spicy, and flavorful.

    Jerk Seasoning- spicy, aromatic, sweet, with brown.

    Turkey seasoning

    How To Bake Boneless Chicken Breasts In The Oven

    Preheat the oven to 420F/220C.

    Cut off any excess fat on the chicken. If need be, use a meat mallet or rolling pin to pound them into even thickness.

    Pat them dry with paper towels.

    In a small bowl, mix the paprika, rosemary, garlic powder, onion granules, parsley, salt, and pepper.

    Brush a side of the chicken breasts with olive oil then sprinkle the seasoning on them.

    Arrange the seasoned side down on the baking tray leaving spaces in between them.

    Brush the top with oil and sprinkle the remaining seasoning on the chicken breasts.

    Put the tray in the oven and bake boneless chicken breast in the oven at a temperature of 425F/220C for 20 minutes or until cooked through.

    Bring the tray out of the oven. Let the chicken rest for 5-8 minutes.

    How Long To Bake Boneless Chicken Breasts

    This varies depending on the size of the chicken breast and the oven temperature.
    Typically, a medium sized boneless chicken breast will take 20-25 minutes to bake at a temperature of 425F/220C.

    Between 400F and 425F is the best temperature for cooking chicken breast as this high temperature cooks it fast and creates juicy and moist meat.

    For how long to cook boneless chicken breasts at 350F/175C is 28-30 minutes.

    So, how long to bake boneless skinless chicken breasts is between 25 - 30 minutes depending on oven temperature and size of the chicken.

    It is cooked when the outer is browned and there is no blood in the middle. The internal temperature will be at least 165F. The best way to test for doneness is by using a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature at the thickest part.

    What To Serve With

    Below are some recommendations of what to serve with it:

    Potatoes- Seasoned potato wedges, pesto potatoes, butter potatoes, air fryer diced potatoes, fried potatoes, boiled Sweet potatoes, air fryer sweet potatoes.

    Pasta- Lemon pasta, boiled pasta, fried spaghetti, Spinach pasta, Veggie pasta.

    Rice- Yellow rice, spicy rice, rice and peas.

    Vegetables- Mediterranean roasted vegetables, baked vegetables, roasted carrots, boiled Zucchini, sauteed frozen peas.

    Storage and Reheating

    When the chicken breasts are completely cooled, transfer them to an airtight container and store them in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

    To Reheat: It can be reheated in the oven, air fryer, or microwave.

    Reheating in the oven: Arrange the chicken breasts on a baking tray and bake them in the oven at a temperature of 360F/180C for 8 minutes or till they are warmed through.

    Reheating in the microwave: Arrange on a microwavable plate, and sprinkle a tablespoon of water on the chicken then reheat on high settings at 30-second intervals till it's warmed through. The water added to it will form steam in it, and keep the thighs moist and tender.

    Tips For Baked Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast

    • Use a meat mallet to pound the chicken into similar thickness so they tenderize and cook evenly.
    • Pat chicken breasts dry before applying oil and seasoning.
    • Arrange the chicken with the smooth sides facing up.
    • Bake it in the middle rack of the oven.
    • For easy clean up, you can line the baking tray with parchment/baking paper.
    • Let the baked chicken breasts rest for 5 minutes to redistribute the juice before cutting.
    • This recipe can be used for bone in chicken breasts however, the cooking time will differ as bone in chicken takes longer to cook than boneless so adjust accordingly.
    • Bake chicken breasts until the internal temperature reaches at least 165F/75C.
