What is Omelette
Omelette is a simple egg dish that is made from beaten eggs and fillings like onions, cheese, tomatoes, peppers and other ingredients. It does not require stirring or scrambling like scrambled eggs. Omelette also sometimes spelled omelet comes out in one large mass and is usually eaten as breakfast or brunch.
There are different variations of omelette accross countries. For example, there's Italian Frittatta, spanish omelette called spanish tortilla, french omelette, the United States denver omelet also known as Southern omelet and western omelet. I have made them all and can tell you they are delicious, high in protein and filling.
Instant Pot Omelette
This instant pot omelette recipe comes out fluffy and delicious. It is healthy, filling, lowcarb and keto. Perfect for busy mornings where you need your hands free. With this PIP method, you don't have to watch over the pot or fear your omelette will burn.
I used my instant pot duo 7 in 1 6 quart for this recipe but you can also make it in any other pressure cooker such as ninja foodie, pressure king pro and others.
Ingredients for instant pot Omelette
For this easy omelette recipe, you'll need (detailed list, recipe and video in recipe card at the end of this post)
Eggs
Tomato
Onion
Spring onion
Chicken - You can use sausage.
Seasoning
Vegetable oil
Salt
What else can i add in my Omelette
Cheese
Black pepper or Cayenne pepper - For some heat

Instant pot Omelette recipe
This is the easiest instant pot omelette recipe. It takes just 5 minutes or less to prep and 15 minutes to cook in the electric pressure cooker. Now, let me show you how i make the best instant pot omelette.
How to make omelette in instant pot
1) Break eggs in a bowl, add seasoning and salt then whisk.
2) Grease baking pan or casserole dish.
3)Add the onions, tomatoes, spring onions and chicken in the pan or casserole dish then pour in the whisked eggs.
4) Mix the content of the pan by giving it a good stir.
5) Place trivet in the inner pot of the instant pot then add in 1 cup of water.
6) Place the baking pan on the trivet and close the instant pot with it's lid.
7) Set valve into sealing position then set instant pot to pressure cook high 15 minutes then 5 minutes natural pressure release.
8) Once instant pot is depressurised, open and take out the omelette pan.
9) Loosen the sides with knife then turn over on a plate.
10) Portion and serve
What to serve with omelette
It is so filling and can be served on it's own. You can serve with steamed vegetables and Infused water for healthy meal.
Tips for making instant pot omelette
- You can use casserole dish if you don't have baking pan.
- Make sure the pan or casserole dish is smaller and can fit in the inner pot of the instant pot.
- Place pan on trivet and not directly in water.
- Chop the onions finely so it softens in the omelette
- Whisk to aerate the eggs for light, fluffy omelette. You can use fork, whisk or blender for this.
- Best served as soon as it's done.

Can you make omelette ahead of time ?
Yes you can make and store in the fridge and re heat in the morning or when needed.
How to store instant pot omelette ?
Portion and allow to cool completely then put in airtight container or freezer bag, label and store in the fridge for up to 4 days and in the freezer for up to 3 months.

It looks great. I am a Instant Pot Newbie and am wondering what your opinion would be if I used only 3 eggs, how much time would it take?
Thank you. It won't have the height if you use 3 eggs unless you use a smaller pan. I haven't tried with 3 eggs yet so not sure about the timing.
