Fried Spaghetti! This stir fried spaghetti recipe is easy, quick and absolutely delicious. Ready in 20 minutes, this spaghetti recipe makes for great midweek dinner.
Pasta makes for a quick meal and just like my rasta pasta recipe, this is a quick recipe. Not only is this spaghetti recipe quick, but it is filling, delicious and healthy.
There are many ways of cooking spaghetti and this stir fry recipe is one of my favourites.
It takes just 20 minutes to cook. So quick you'll get the meal ready before any takeout will be delivered. Just imagine this as dinner and if you have leftover you can have it for lunch the following day.

What is Spaghetti?
Spaghetti is a type of pasta. It is long, thin and made of milled wheat. Other types of pasta are linguine and fettuccine, macaroni and many others. Spaghetti is probably my favourite of them followed by linguine.
My family loves spaghetti and it's always a delight when I cook it. If they can have their way, they'd want me making it every single day.
Spaghetti is my husband's favorite meal. One of the few dishes he cooks and can cook well is spaghetti meals. Their love of spaghetti is just like my love of rice..which I'll tell you about another day.
So back to this stir fry spaghetti recipe, it's quick, it's easy, it's flavourful and absolutely delicious.
You can have it as lunch or dinner. My family won't even mind having it for breakfast if you let them.
Fried Spaghetti Recipe
Let me tell you why you'll love this stir fried spaghetti recipe:

It makes use of few simple ingredients.
This recipe is simple and straightforward and you can't go wrong with it.
Fried Spaghetti Ingredients
Another beauty of this dish is it makes use of simple everyday ingredients. The ingredients for this recipe include:
Spaghetti
Mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, sweetcorn) - You can use include other types of vegetables. A good way to clear the fridge
Mixed peppers - (red, green and yellow bell peppers)
Shrimp/Prawns (Optional) - You can substitute for chicken.
Onion
Garlic
Black pepper
Soy sauce- oh soy sauce! This ingredient will take your stir fry from top to top. Use the dark soy sauce if you can.
Curry powder
Dried Thyme
Spring Onions
Salt
Vegetable oil - You can use sunflower oil, olive oil or coconut oil.
How To Cook It
Add water in a pot and put on the stove. Add a tablespoon of vegetable oil and leave to boil before adding salt and spaghetti.
Cook for 10 minutes or till spaghetti is cooked aldente. Drain and set aside.
Put a wok or pan on stove, add the remaining vegetable oil then add prawns/shrimps. Fry prawn then add onions, mixed vegetables, mixed peppers and spring onions.
Add seasoning cube, curry powder, dried thyme, and soy sauce. Stir fry for 3 minutes then add in the cooked spaghetti. Mix well before taking off the heat.
Fried spaghetti is ready to be enjoyed. Best served warm.
What to serve with Spaghetti
This is a main dish however if you'd like additional protein you can serve with chicken or beef.
Drinks such as cucumber juice, lemon juice, or carrot juice.
Can I use other type of Pasta ?
Yes, you can use linguine, tagliatelle, or any other long pasta.
Can I use chicken instead of shrimp?
Yes. You can substitute shrimp for chicken or beef.
How to store leftover
Best eaten fresh however you can store leftover spaghetti stir fry. This doesn't happen often in my house. If at all there's any left, we eat the stir fry spaghetti leftovers the following day as lunch!
To store in the fridge, leave it to completely cool, then pack in an airtight bowl then store in the fridge where it'll last up to 3 days.
To store in the freezer : If storing in the freezer, put in airtight bowl, label with dates and store in the freezer where it will last up to 3 months.
It can be reheated in the microwave or on the stovetop.
Tips
- Don't overcook the pasta
- You can add in other quick-cooking vegetables like broccoli.
- Adjust pepper to taste. You can also substitute black pepper for cayenne pepper or chili flakes, crushed pepper.

Ingredients
- 500 g Spaghetti
- 1.5 cup Mixed peppers red, green and yellow bell peppers (sliced)
- 1.5 cup Mixed vegetables Carrot, peas, sweetcorn
- 300 g Shrimp
- 1 medium Onion Chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic Minced
- 1 tspn Black pepper
- 3 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbpn dried thyme
- 1 tbsp Curry powder
- ¼ Cup Spring Onions chopped
- ¼ Cup Vegetable Oil
- Salt
- 1 Seasoning cube
Instructions
- Add water in a pot and put on stove. Add a tablespoon of vegetable oil and leave to boil before adding salt and spaghetti.
- Cook for 15 minutes or till spaghetti is cooked aldente. Drain and set aside
- Put a wok or pan on stove, add the remaining vegetable oil then add prawns/shrimps.
- Fry the prawns for 3 minutes before adding garlic, onions, mixed vegetables, mixed peppers and spring onions.
- Add seasoning cubes, curry powder, dried thyme and soy sauce then add in the cooked spaghetti.
- Stir and mix well before taking off heat. Best served warm.

This was delicious I had left over spaghetti and didn’t want to waste it but wanted something different I did add a little teriyaki sauce to it as as well because I made it ahead of time and just to moisten without adding water . My husband loved it
