    Cucumber Water Recipe

    This Cucumber water recipe is so simple you'll be making it regularly. It is perfect for hydration at any time of the day and at any event be it a sunny day, a cool day, or a lazy day by the poolside, at your work desk, or anywhere.

    With this flavored water, you only need 2 ingredients- Cucumber and water however you can add lemon or lime, and herbs like mint or thyme for flavor. I love to add lemon as it amplifies the taste.

    Cucumber in water enriches it with additional nutrients. It flavors water which helps in drinking more and getting in the recommended amount of water intake.

    Cucumber is available in stores most times of the year, it is inexpensive and can be stored for longer than most.

    No fancy tool is needed to make Cucumber infused water. You only need a Knife to slice the cucumbers, Jug to make it in, and a cup to serve it. 

    I used English cucumber but you can use any type. With English Cucumber you don't need to peel the skin and it is seedless.

    Is cucumber water good for you?

    Cucumber water has many health benefits including aiding digestion, lowering blood pressure, and being good for the skin and eyes. It also hydrates and refreshes and is good for the body but like most things, it's best when done in moderation. It quenches thirst, it's flavorful, and can help towards the intake of recommended daily allowance for water.

    Benefits of Cucumber Water

    Below are some of cucumber water benefits:

    It is a cheap, and delicious way of enjoying water and It provides the hydration that the body needs. It is recommended to drink about 2-3 liters of water per day. Females are advised to drink 2.2 litres of water a day and males 3 liters.

    Some people find it difficult to achieve this by drinking plain water. Cucumber flavored water is appealing so helps in making people drink more and get their daily intake without resorting to unhealthy soda or juice.

    It provides antioxidants including vitamin c, manganese, and flavonoid for the body. Antioxidants help prevent some conditions such as cardiovascular disease, muscular degeneration, diabetes, and cancer. Antioxidants can reverse or slow down oxidative stress which causes these diseases.

    Cucumbers are a good source of potassium which helps lower blood pressure. Drinking it can help regulate blood flow.

    It detoxes the body for healthy skin, bones, muscles, and nails.

    This recipe is vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free. It is low in calories and refined sugar-free. It is a guilt-free way of enjoying water.

    How To Make Cucumber Water

    Wash the cucumber and cut it into round slices or any shape of your choice.

    Wash and slice the lemon into slices.

    Add clean water to a pitcher then add the cucumber slices, lemon, and mint.

    Stir, cover, and put it in the fridge to infuse for at least 10 minutes.

    How Long Does Cucumber Water Last

    How long it lasts depends on how it's stored. If refrigerated, It will keep well for up to 48 hours. It's best to cover and refrigerate it as soon as it's made.
    Do not drink it if it has a foul smell or fermented taste as that means it's gone bad.
