    Easy homemade lime juice recipe (limeade) that is a perfect refreshing drink for summer or any time of the year. This limeade recipe makes use of just 2 ingredients and it takes just 7 minutes to make. Learn how to make lime juice in quick, easy steps.

    This low-calorie lime drink is the perfect refreshment and it's so simple to make. Just like my cucumber juice recipe, it's healthy and no fat. I personally make mine with no sugar or any form of sweetener as I like the taste without but do sometimes add sugar as my kids prefer their own sweetened.

    Lime Juice Recipe (Limeade)

    This fresh lime juice recipe is easy, quick, and simple. With this recipe, no need to make syrup before making this homemade limeade.

    It has no artificial preservative, it’s made from scratch with fresh limes and it is cooling and refreshing.

    This lime drink can be used to replace sugary drinks and soda for a healthier lifestyle. It's cheap to make and only takes 7 minutes of your time to put together.

    There are varieties of limes which include key limes and Persian limes. They are small-sized, sour and have benefits which include

    • High in Vitamin C and antioxidants. Vitamin C helps boost immunity and antioxidants may help prevent some type of cancers, heart disease, and some chronic conditions.
    • Improves digestion and helps with weight loss.
    • Reduce inflammation and promotes healthy skin.
    • May help prevent kidney stones.

    Sugar or Honey (optional)

    8 Limes with one cut into 2/

    How to Make Lime Juice (Limeade)

    Roll the limes on the worktop or hard surface in a circular motion so they are easy to juice. You can also roll between your palms.

    Cut and juice the lemons.

    Add the freshly squeezed lime juice in a pitcher then add in 2 liters of cold water and stir.

    Add in sliced limes (Optional)

    Pitcher of lime juice (limeade).

    Serve, and enjoy homemade lime juice.

    How to store

    Store in the fridge where it will last for 2 days or in the freezer for up to 6 months. If to be stored in the freezer make sure you put in a freezer-safe container and when ready to drink, bring out, and let it defrost. You can leave in the fridge to defrost overnight. If you add lime slices, remove before storing.

    Tips

    • Freshly squeezed limes are best for this recipe however you can make it with bottled lime juice.
    • You can add some lemon juice to make it lemon limeade
    • Add more water if you feel the juice is too concentrated.
    • You can sweeten with sugar, honey or sweetener of your choice.
    • Serve on ice for colder, refreshing lime juice.

    Can I substitute bottled lime juice for fresh lime juice

    Yes, you can, however, you might need to adjust lime juice to water ratio if using bottled lime juice.

    How many Limes makes a cup of freshly squeezed lime juice?

    About 8 limes juiced will give 1 cup of juice.

    The drink garnished with mint leaves and lime slices.
