How to Make Lemon Juice
Roll the lemons on the worktop in a circular motion or roll between your palms. This is so they are easy to juice.
Cut each lemons into 2 equal parts and juice.
Pour the freshly squeezed lemon juice into a pitcher then add in 2 liters of cold water.
Add in sliced lemons (Optional) and sugar if using.
Stir well and put in the fridge to chill for at least 30 minutes or immediately serve on ice.
How much juice in a lemon?
This depends on the size of the lemon. A large lemon will produce ¼ cup (80ml) of juice. A medium-size lemon will give 3-4 tablespoons of juice.
For a cup of lemon juice you will need 3-4 large lemons.
Note that some lemons are less juicy than others.
How to Store
Before you store lemon juice, remove any lemon slices, or garnish then pour in a bottle and store in the fridge where it will remain for up to 3 days. If freezing, pour in a freezer-safe bottle or airtight container, label, and store in the freezer. It will last up to 6 months in the freezer.
When ready to drink, bring out of the freezer and thaw/defrost in the fridge or countertop.
Make lemon ice cubes. Add in ice cube tray and put in the freezer. Once frozen pop the cubes into ziploc bag then return it to the freezer.
