These recipes are straightforward and foolproof and anyone can make them. My 8-year-old likes to make it and I just supervise her do it. It's that easy.
Here are some reasons why I like this recipe

- They are not too sweet, made from fresh ingredients and no preservative added.
- No fancy or heavy tool required to make it. You can make these recipes using either a blender, food processor and if you have a juicer, go ahead and use it.
- This homemade carrot juice is better than from carton or concentrate.
- Not only is it tasty, refreshing and inexpensive to make, but it also has health benefits which I'll summarise for you below.

- Carrots contain over 85% water and a good source of fiber which helps in hydration and digestion.
- They are a great source of Vitamin A and also contain Vitamin B and K. Vitamin A helps protect against night blindness and improve vision, the beta carotene in it makes skin look better.
- The carotenoids in them may help protect against cancer.
- They may lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease.
- Carrots are good for weightloss because they have very low-fat content and you can substitute with high-calorie sugary drinks.
- They contain antioxidants that are good for the immune system.

Carrots - I used orange carrots and that's what this post is based on. There are other varieties like black and purple carrots but I have not used those before for juicing. You can use baby or organic carrots. The baby ones taste milder.
Sugar or Honey - You can use caster sugar, granulated sugar, or honey. Honey is healthier than sugar and a tablespoon of honey contains 64 calories.
Water
Ice - This is optional but you can serve carrot juice and have it cold immediately if served on ice.

Some other ingredients that you can combine with carrots for drinking are listed below. All of these have their own benefits and mixing with carrots not only enhances the taste but added health benefits.
Ginger
Cucumber - Low calorie, hydrating, and nutrient-packed.
Apple - Sweet and healthy. Use red, green, or any sweet apple.
Orange - I like adding for citrusy taste and natural sweetening.
Milk - Whole milk, semi-skimmed, skimmed, or even coconut milk.
Tools
Blender - You can use a blender or smoothie maker. I used a blender to make the recipes in this post and it works fine.
Food processor - If not using a blender you can use a food processor.
Juicer - Either use juicer, blender, or food processor.
Cheesecloth -To sieve the juice from the chaff.
Pitcher or bottle- To pour the juice and serve. Any pitcher that's at least 1 litre volume will work fine for these recipes.
Knife - To cut the vegetables and fruits.

Peel the ginger and rinse. Scrape the outer skin off the carrots or wash thoroughly.

Transfer to a pitcher and refrigerate or serve over ice and enjoy.
Carrot Orange Juice

Directions
Scrape the outer skin off the carrots or wash thoroughly. Juice the oranges.
Cut and add carrots in a blender or food processor then add in water and honey or sugar.

Add the orange juice and transfer it into a pitcher then chill it in the fridge.

Apple Carrot Juice

Scrape off the outer skin off the carrots or wash thoroughly and cut.
Rinse apple and cut into small sizes. Remove the core.
Add all ingredients into a blender or food processor.
Add in water and honey or sugar then blend till smooth.
Pour through a cheesecloth into a bowl then transfer the juice into a pitcher and chill in the fridge.

Cucumber Carrot Juice

Cucumber
Carrots
Sugar or Honey or to taste
Water
Directions
Rinse the cucumber and if it has seed, remove the seeds. Scrape or wash the carrots thoroughly.
Add carrots, cucumber, sugar, or honey in a blender or food processor then add in water.
Blend till smooth then pour through a cheesecloth into a bowl.
Transfer the juice into a pitcher and put it in the fridge to chill.
Serve and enjoy.
Carrot Juice with Milk

Milk - Whole milk, semi-skimmed, skimmed, or coconut milk.
