How To Cut Cabbage
Peel off the outer layer if it's discolored or torn. Don't take out the root.
Rinse the cabbage
Use a sharp knife to cut the cabbage into wedges of 4 - 8 depending on the size.
How To Boil Cabbage
Remove the outer leaves and rinse the Cabbage.
Cut it into wedges or slices.
Arrange the cabbage in a wide pot then add water or stock to the cabbage.
Put the pot on heat and let the cabbage boil for 7- 12 minutes or till it's tender to how you like it.
Drain the water then add butter, salt, and pepper to the cabbage.
Take off heat.
Serve and enjoy.
How Long To Boil Cabbage
This depends on the size and cut of the cabbage. Whole cabbage will take longer to cook than cabbage wedges and cabbage wedges will take longer to cook than sliced or shredded Cabbage.
How long to boil cabbage is between 7-15 minutes.
For How long to boil shredded cabbage is 6-8 minutes
How long to boil whole cabbage is 12-16 minutes.
Cabbage is boiled when it is soft and tender. You can test this by cutting into one and tasting it. You can also test by inserting a knife into the thickest part of the cabbage. If it goes in without resistance then it's tender.

Cover the bowl and put it in the microwave.
Microwave at high settings for 4 minutes. Bring out the bowl and check for doneness, if it's not tender, microwave at 30 seconds intervals till it's cooked.
When it's cooked, bring out the bowl, and drain the water.
Immediately add butter, pepper, and salt.
