Creamy steak pasta recipe that is simple and quick. You will love this steak and pasta dish that is packed full of flavor, filling, and delicious. It is the perfect comfort food for weeknight dinners, or for any occasion. Let me show you how to make it.
Cook SteakSeason the steak with salt, pepper, and steak seasoning. If you'd like to use another seasoning, here's a good steak rub recipe, or if you prefer marinated steak, use this steak marinade.
Add butter and olive oil to a pan or skillet, heat up then add the steak. Sear on each side for 2- 3 minutes depending on how rare or well-cooked you prefer the steak.
Transfer the steak to a plate, and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing it up.
Cook pastaAdd water to a pot and let it rapidly boil before adding salt, and pasta. Stir the pasta and cook it till it is aldente. Reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta. You can also follow the packaging instruction for cooking the pasta.
Make the creamy sauce- Add a tablespoon of olive oil, onion, and garlic into the pan or skillet used for cooking the steak, and saute until it's soft then add the Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Pour in the pasta water, cream cheese, and Parmesan then stir and cook for 2-3 minutes or till it's smooth and creamy.
Combine steak, pasta,and creamy sauceAdd the boiled pasta to the creamy sauce, add chopped parsley, simmer, and mix till well combined.
Transfer the sliced steak to the pan. Take off the heat and serve.
Notes
Don't wash the pan after searing the steak, the brown bits flavor the pasta.
After pan frying steak, don't cut it immediately. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing it up.
You can dice the steak if you prefer that to slicing it.
Use any type of pasta- Fettucine, linguine, rigatoni, Penne, and fusilli are some of our favorites for this recipe.
Use more steak if you prefer however don't overcrowd the pan when cooking it. Pan fry two at a time at most.
When slicing the steak, cut it against the grain.
You can use leftover steak.
The starch in the pasta water makes the dish more creamy so don't forget to reserve it to use.
