To Cook itIn the Oven- Remove the chicken from the marinade and transfer them to a baking paper-lined tray. Set the oven to 400F/200C then cook marinated Asian chicken for 40-45 minutes or until cooked. If it's browning too quickly, cover the tray with foil.
Notes
The marinade can be made ahead and stored in the fridge.
Use this recipe to marinate up to 1kg of chicken. You can double the recipe.
Marinate for at least 30 minutes but it's better to marinate for longer so the chicken infuses maximum flavor. If you don't have much time to spare, then marinate it for at least 30 minutes. I like to marinate it for 4-6 hours but it can be marinated for up to 12 hours when time is not of the essence.
After marinating, discard marinade that has come into contact with the raw chicken unless you'll be cooking the marinade afterward.
After cooking the chicken, let it rest for 5 minutes before cutting into it. This gives time for the juice to redistribute in the chicken for a moist and juicy outcome.
