First, wash the potatoes till they are clean. If you prefer to peel the potatoes, use a potato peeler to peel the skin.
Cut the potatoes into about 3-4 cm size.If you have the time, soak the potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes. If not, move on to the next step.
Add the potatoes into a pot, and add water to the pot to cover the potatoes by at least an inch.
Pour salt into the water (the water should taste slightly salty so the potatoes are not bland).
Cover the pot and place it on the stovetop on high heat, and when it starts boiling, reduce to medium heat and boil potatoes till they are fork tender (this takes about 10-15 minutes).
