This lemon chicken marinade recipe is easy, simple, and quick. Tangy, citrusy, and packed full of flavor, this homemade herb garlic lemon marinade for chicken is made with a few simple ingredients and can be ready in 5 minutes. Marinate chicken with lemon for a delicious, restaurant-quality, flavorful meal.
Rub the lemon on a flat surface so it's easy to juice. Cut the lemon and juice the lemon into a small bowl.
Add olive, dried thyme, parsley, rosemary, black pepper, and salt. Mix till well combined.
It is ready to use.
How To Marinade Chicken With Lemon
Clean the chicken, cut out fat, or skin. Pat chicken dry with paper towels.
Put the chicken in a Ziploc bag and pour the marinade over them. Zip the Ziploc and gently shake the bag to rub in the marinade with the chicken.
When the chicken is evenly coated, place the Ziploc in the fridge and marinate chicken for 30 minutes up to 3 hours.
When ready to cook, bring the chicken out, and cook as desired.
Discard the remaining marinade in the bag.
How To Cook
After marinating the chicken as detailed above, arrange them on a baking paper-lined tray.
Bake it in the oven at a temperature of 400F/200C until cooked. Chicken breast and boneless chicken cooking times are 25-35 minutes, while bone-in chicken thighs take 45-50 minutes.
Notes
Marinate for 30 minutes up to 3 hours. Unless freezing don't marinate for more than 4 hours as the acid in the lemon can start breaking down the protein and make it tough.
You can make the marinade and store it. It lasts up to 6 months in the freezer.
Adjust the pepper to how you like your spice.
If marinating frozen chicken, thaw first before adding the marinade.
