Instructions
Measure out the ingredients.
Place pot on stove then pour in the ketchup.
Add apple cider vinegar and all other ingredients.
Stir and simmer on low heat for about 5 - 8 minutes or till thickened.
Take off heat and leave to cool. Store or use immediately.
Notes
Adjust Cayenne and black pepper to suit how hot you want the barbeque sauce.
Substitute cayenne pepper for hot sauce.
You can add liquid smoke or hickory for a smoky flavor. You not only get tangy, sweet and spicy bbq sauce, you get smoky too.
Simmer the sauce on low heat and use a deep pan to avoid splatter over the stovetop.
If you prefer thin bbq sauce then don't simmer for long as the sauce will thicken as it cools.
If making large batch, divide and store into individual size.
