Dessert options are Victoria sponge cake and Coconut cake
How to Store
Texas hash stores well and in my own opinion tastes better the next day. To store, leave it to cool then put in an airtight container. It will last in the fridge for up to 4 days and in the freezer for up to 3 months.
If storing in the freezer, use a freezer-safe container and label with dates. It can be thawed in the fridge or reheated from frozen.
To reheat, either microwave from frozen on high or reheat on the stove.
To reheat on the stove, add into a pot then add some water, cover the pot with lid, and steam for 5 minutes or till.
Tips
- Wash the rice before use.
- Use lean beef for a healthier dish.
- Use good quality ingredients.
- Adjust chilli and black pepper to how spicy you want the Texas hash.
- You can add peas to this recipe if you wish. If doing so, add it about 5 minutes to the end of cooking time.
- You can top with cheese if you wish.
