Shrimp and Sausage Rice Recipe
My shrimp and sausage rice recipe is easy and quick to make.
I can tell you it is kids approved because my children loves it and i always make a big batch so we have leftovers.
It's budget friendly, flavorful, and satisfying.
Ingredients
The detailed ingredient list, measurements and directions are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
Shrimp - Peeled and deveined.
Sausage - I used chicken sausage, but you can use any type of sausage.
Rice - Uncooked easy cook long grain rice or golden sella basmati rice
Red Bell pepper
Onion
Frozen peas
Butter
Oil
Garlic
Cajun seasoning
Black pepper
Stock powder
Chicken stock
Salt
Parsley

How To Make Shrimp and Sausage Rice
1) Season the Shrimp with 1 teaspoon of cajun seasoning and salt.
Add oil into a pot on medium heat, add shrimp, and pan fry. Transfer to a plate.

2) Cut and season sausages with 1 teaspoon of cajun seasoning, fry in the same pot used for the shrimp, and transfer to the plate.

3) Add chopped onion, stir with the brown bits in the pot, and fry for 1 minute. Pour in garlic and fry for another minute.
4) Pour in bell peppers, rice, the remaining Cajun seasoning, butter, stock powder, and chicken stock. Stir till well combined and add the green peas to the top.

5) Cover and cook on low heat for 20 minutes. Transfer the Shrimp and sausage back into the pot, stir, and garnish with parsley.

6) Cover the pot and let the rice continue to cook for another 5 minutes or till tender and the water has dried up.
7) Take off the heat, stir to combine, serve, and enjoy.

How To Store
Let it cool, then transfer to a sealable container and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for 3 months.

- 2 Stock cubes
- 4 cups Chicken stock
- Salt to taste
- Parsley for garnish
Instructions
