How Long To Broil Salmon
It takes 8-12 minutes to broil salmon. The thicker the salmon fillets, the longer it takes. Broiling uses high temperature (450°F -550°F) to cook the salmon, so the fish cooks quickly, the top is crispy, and the inside is tender.
Salmon is cooked when the internal temperature reaches 135F. This can be ascertained using an instant thermometer to check the internal temperature at the thickest part.
What To Serve With
Salmon is a versatile fish that goes with most foods. Here are some side dish suggestions to serve with salmon:
Onion mashed potatoes, boiled potatoes, seasoned potato wedges
Seasoned rice, spicy rice, white rice
Tomato pasta, pasta
Roasted vegetables, roasted carrots, air fryer Vegetables
How To Store
Let the salmon cool down completely, transfer to an airtight container or wrap in foil, and store in the fridge for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Reheat in the oven at 170C for 8 minutes or till warmed through. If reheating using the stovetop or air fryer, reheat at a low temperature until warm to prevent drying out.
Tips For Broiled Salmon With Skin
- Line the baking tray with parchment paper for easy cleaning of the baking dish.
- Don't leave the salmon marinated for more than 5 minutes because of the lemon juice, as it starts to break down the fish.
- Use an instant thermometer to check the internal temperature of the fish. If you don't have one, another way to check the doneness is by cutting into the thickest part of the salmon with a fork. It should begin to flake and be slightly translucent in the center.
